What I am about to share with you, is a very unusual story. Unusual because it is about 2 geeks, named Michael and Carl who cracked the holy grail of financial computing. They developed the world’s first commercially available Stock Picking Robot, named Marl after his co-creators.

Marl came about after Michael developed the famous “Global Alpha” computer stock trading model while contracted to Goldman Sachs. After leaving, Michael worked with Carl to re-design the system to trade the smaller stocks that fall below the radar of the big financial houses and are more volatile, meaning Marl could make even bigger profits.

Marl works by analysing each stock using “technical analysis“, which means analysing a stocks past price movements to predict the stocks future direction. Unlike a human trader, Marl can easily monitor hundreds of stocks at the same time. In addition Marl is programmed on an “evolutionary framework”. What this means, is that as Marl watches these hundreds of stock patterns he actually learns the most likely direction of stock prices under thousands of situations. This means the longer Marl is allowed to run on a computer…the More advanced he becomes!

As you can imagine this software it would be prohibitively expensive for most people to license (just in case you are interested, each license costs $28000!) so Michael and Carl created a weekly newsletter named “Doubling Stocks“. Each week every reader of that newsletter receives one Penny Stock pick chosen by Marl. The newsletter was started 4 months ago and so far, each pick has made an average 105.28% increase!!
